Northwest Medical Center is the proud sponsor of an Annual 5K & 1Mile Walk/Run to help promote wellness and fitness throughout the Northwest Missouri region. The race is held on the first Saturday of June and is held in conjunction with the Albany R-III Tri-Learn-a-Thon events.
The 3rd Annual 2011 event drew a record crowd of 138 participants. All participants were invited to bring their friends and family to a Friday night packet pickup and late registration to enjoy a Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser to benefit Relay for Life. This event brought in $500 to benefit American Cancer Society. Saturday morning, race participants of all ages enjoyed a fun and challenging one mile or 5K course that was professionally timed by “Run Kansas City.” After the event, participants enjoyed breakfast prepared by the Albany Fire Department while the awards were presented to top finishers.
